Nostril Piercing Tips

No Make-Up this means on or near your piercing. I know this seems like an obvious one but it's one of the most common problems. Many women think they can just do it around the piercing and that's good enough, but what you don't realize is the powder could fall into your piercing at anytime or you could rub it in by accident. The best tip I can give for this is tUse a bandaid! Cut a small piece off the corner of the bandaid and cover the piercing while putting on your make-up and take it off once done, this is prevent anything from getting it to.

Be careful when washing/drying your face again maybe an obvious one but the small bead on the nose ring can get snagged very easily. It's best to wash your hands with your hands as opposed to a cloth and pat your face dry carefully with a towel. This will help make sure your piercing doesn't get caught. That also means with clothing, tissues and glasses!!

Cartilage Piercing Tips

DON'T SLEEP ON IT! I know this seems like an obvious one but it's one of the most common problems and that's because it is so hard to control what you do when you are sleeping. This is always something you want to consider when planning an ear piercing.

Use a bandaid! Cut a small piece off the corner of the bandaid and cover the piercing if you are wearing it for more than 10 mins use gauze as well. This is prevent anything from getting it to. You can use a bandaid often with your piercings but it is important to make sure you are giving it lots of time to breath. If you are wearing it to sleep and then also during the day you should be giving it at least 2-3 hours with nothing on it before bed. It is also important to rinse it off really well each time you take the bandaid off, showers are best but spray bottles work as well!

Be careful!!! You must always be cautious when doing anything around your new piercing. Both a barbell or ring can get snagged very easily and even small snags can cause big problems with a healing piercing.  Brushing your hair away from your ear will help greatly as well as carefully putting on hats and sunglasses. That also means with clothing, tissues and glasses!!

WATCH FOR BUMPS! Read Bumps if you haven't already!

With the nostril it's easy to watch for bumps because you look at your face every day! But make sure you are checking all of your cartilage piercings regularly!

The trick with bumps if finding the cause (because there is always something causing it)! If you can stop whatever is causing the bump it should go away on it's own!
